Never thought I would have the coolest job there is, but I do! It's nice to be a licensed professional in the world of art.

 

Born and raised in Durham, North Carolina, I only left my Hometown to attend North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. I graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism of Mass Communication with a concentration in Broadcast Production degree.

 

In 2014, I walked away from the television industry. The path I took leaving NBC 17 News, led me to be the photographer that I am today. From 2007- 2010 I was a starving artist literally, I was painting my world more beautiful than what I was living. One day I decided to photograph what I wanted to paint. I posted three photos to Social Media and the world stopped, ArtbyAsh was formed. I had an overwhelming response of people wanting me to do their photography. From that day on I have not been able to paint again. I quickly built a brand, marketed my services, and transformed from an immature photographer to a savvy entrepreneur of ELIZABETH ASHLEY & CO.

Since 2012, I have been awarded the Couple’s Choice Award for five straight years on Wedding Wire, and have been published in several magazines. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of being a role model and mentor to new business owners. Together we’ve increased clientele, expanded their branding, and fostered a spark to inspire everyone we come across.
